La Cantina Authentic Italian Pizzeria

"Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes- Small, large, circle, square, thin crust, thick crust, stuffed crust, extra toppings... Oh wait! that's a pizza!" - Anonymous

Pizza is a flatbread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese and baked in an oven. It is commonly topped with a selection of meats, vegetables and condiments. The term was first recorded in the 10th century, in a Latin manuscript from Gaeta in Central Italy.

The modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish and its variants have since become popular in many areas of the world. Pizza is sold fresh, frozen or in portions. Various types of ovens are used to cook them and many varieties exist. Several similar dishes are prepared from ingredients commonly used in pizza preparation, such as calzone and stromboli. It is a popular fast food item.

Everyone loves a good pizza. From kids to adults and everyone in between, pizza is perhaps one of the most versatile meals known to a busy parent. There's something out there for everyone whether it's meat or vegetarian or even gluten-free. Everyone knows the struggle of ordering just one pizza when you have at least four different taste preferences... This post will be focusing on the debate between the traditional pizza with cheese and red sauce as opposed to a lot more varied options now becoming available.

La Cantina has one of the versatile pizza menus I have encountered thus far. It ranges between 10 Vegetarian Pizzas, 11 Seafood Pizzas, and 19 Meat Pizzas. Their starter menu is also filled with delicious options like salads and antipasti. This is all paired with a wine selection drawn from some of the finest wine houses that Italy, Chile and Argentina have to offer.

La Cantina has fast become a restaurant of note- drawing both local and international recognition for their superb and inventive menu of authentic italian pizza. They have been featured in the Trinidad Express, Guardian and Newsday. It has also gained recognition on popular sites like Tripadvisor.com, Creole.com and Trinichow.com.

Their pizza has one of the most delightful crispy, thin and crunchy textures that I have tasted. So different from the mass produced commercial pizzas that are found now. Loaded with a variety of delicious toppings, some of them new and unusual... Served along with their pepper flake infused olive oil, this pizza just hits the spot.

Conveniently located in Crown Point along the 'strip' its the perfect destination to start the evening off on a truly delicious note!
