Your Wedding Day Lookbook: A Collaboration

Inspired by the natural beauty of the island of Tobago, this Wedding Day Lookbook carries every essential part of this once in a lifetime event. From dresses and makeup packages to a variety of menu options for both food and wine as well as the more practical aspects such as location and video production services, this is truly a personalized and very customizable way of making your special day less stressful.

This concept is a collaboration between myself, Bella's Caribbean Delights and Island I Do's. Bella's Caribbean Delights can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/bellascaribbeandelights/?fref=ts
This blog focuses on sharing the unique dishes of the Caribbean Islands. Island I Do's as the name implies centers around personalizing your day with easy, cheap and unique diy crafts. Find out more at: https://www.facebook.com/islandidos/info/?tab=page_info

This collaboration was conceptualized to incorporate these three different blog content into one cohesive end product. The end result is this wedding day lookbook. As we all know, planning a wedding can be stressful and often takes away from the joy of the occasion, What better alternative is there to tearing your hair out? It also lends itself to a more spontaneous ceremony rather than the long, often drawn out process of starting from scratch.

On your special day choosing wine is also an important part of ensuring the overall cohesiveness of this event. Here are a few options that are extremely versatile no matter your choice of menu- sweet, spicy and everything in between!

Dry Reds
A Bordeaux is full bodied enough to tones down the extreme spices used and boost the overall flavour profiles without being too overpowering.
Sweet Red
A sweet red like Pinot Noir balances well with the multitude of herbs used to season a red meat like pork without masking any of the other tastes.
Semi Sweet Red
Either a good Merlot or a Cabernet Sauvignon will  stand up to the richness of a steak dinner, without overpowering the lightness of seafood.

 Crisp Whites
Pinot Grigio is a light and acidic accompaniment to, but full bodied enough to stand up with the richness of a red meat like beef.
Dry Whites
The acidity of a wine like Sauvignon Blanc helps to both boost the overall flavour profiles while it softens the extreme spices in this dish.
 Sweet Whites
A wine with an acidic base like an oaked Chardonnay pairs well with the buttery texture of the lobster as well the light side dishes .

Each wine has its own distinctive flavour, so why not give your wine glasses your own distinctive touch? Toast to your love at your engagement party or wedding—your guests will savour each sip from these custom printed wine glasses.
  • Customize with dozens of elegant wedding designs for your special occasion. You can also select a font colour and style to match your party theme and colour.
  • Fill wineglasses with mini hearts as wedding favour candy, tie with a delightful ribbon bows or create a wine-themed gift basket with many wine party favours.

Time To Wine Wines and Spirits

Forget browsing through the liquor section in Pennysavers. If you're looking for somewhere fabulous to peruse a wide selection of quality wines and liquor, Time To Wine in Shirvan Plaza, Tobago is the place to be.

Located at Shirvan Plaza in Tobago. Time to wine is quickly becoming known as the place to find reasonably priced selections starting from around $120.00 and up.

They offer so much more than retail options. They have small bar and serve a selection of cheeses and crackers with your glass of choice. The atmosphere is conducive to a nice after work wind down or even an intimate gathering of friends.

Recently, they hosted the book launch of author Elspeth Duncan's book 'Tobago Peeps'. This versatility is so unlike most places in Tobago and it is a welcome change to be able to have somewhere like this that is so much more than shop and go. The social aspect of it is what really caught my attention since it is the first business of its calibre in Tobago.

The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and quite knowledgeable about the selections on sale. It even comes with a mini lesson if needed! This week gone was their first wine tasting with a selection of interesting wines from France, Chile, Argentina and Germany to name a few.

This little wine shop has becom quite popilar on Tripadvisor.com with over forty quality reviews. Mostly written by visitors to the island, in between there are a couple Trinidadians who have lauded both the selections available as well as the exceptional service.

I love the feel of the place with its refined and upscale decor, yet cosy vibe. Its the perfect place to sit back and unwind after a long week. The best part is that it is out of the Scarborough area so ther's virtually no traffic at all to hamper your ride. With its small yet intimate setting designed to lull you into multiple glasses, visit Time To Wine for a truly unforgettable ecperience.

La Cantina Authentic Italian Pizzeria

"Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes- Small, large, circle, square, thin crust, thick crust, stuffed crust, extra toppings... Oh wait! that's a pizza!" - Anonymous

Pizza is a flatbread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese and baked in an oven. It is commonly topped with a selection of meats, vegetables and condiments. The term was first recorded in the 10th century, in a Latin manuscript from Gaeta in Central Italy.

The modern pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, and the dish and its variants have since become popular in many areas of the world. Pizza is sold fresh, frozen or in portions. Various types of ovens are used to cook them and many varieties exist. Several similar dishes are prepared from ingredients commonly used in pizza preparation, such as calzone and stromboli. It is a popular fast food item.

Everyone loves a good pizza. From kids to adults and everyone in between, pizza is perhaps one of the most versatile meals known to a busy parent. There's something out there for everyone whether it's meat or vegetarian or even gluten-free. Everyone knows the struggle of ordering just one pizza when you have at least four different taste preferences... This post will be focusing on the debate between the traditional pizza with cheese and red sauce as opposed to a lot more varied options now becoming available.

La Cantina has one of the versatile pizza menus I have encountered thus far. It ranges between 10 Vegetarian Pizzas, 11 Seafood Pizzas, and 19 Meat Pizzas. Their starter menu is also filled with delicious options like salads and antipasti. This is all paired with a wine selection drawn from some of the finest wine houses that Italy, Chile and Argentina have to offer.

La Cantina has fast become a restaurant of note- drawing both local and international recognition for their superb and inventive menu of authentic italian pizza. They have been featured in the Trinidad Express, Guardian and Newsday. It has also gained recognition on popular sites like Tripadvisor.com, Creole.com and Trinichow.com.

Their pizza has one of the most delightful crispy, thin and crunchy textures that I have tasted. So different from the mass produced commercial pizzas that are found now. Loaded with a variety of delicious toppings, some of them new and unusual... Served along with their pepper flake infused olive oil, this pizza just hits the spot.

Conveniently located in Crown Point along the 'strip' its the perfect destination to start the evening off on a truly delicious note!
